Well 2moons, like every game, has DC/Lag problems.Every patch, that comes out, is supposed to fix them but situation sometimes get's even worse.I found these tips on forum, so Player's tried them out and they worked.Well of course you can't get rid of DC'ing completely, but you can try to minimaze it Razz. And these are tips to do it:

1)Host file.Go to :
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

There you find the file name 'Hosts' right click and open with notepad.

At the end of this file you will find the line -

127.0.0.1 local host (note it will be the last line of this file), add a new line after it.

Paste this at the same location.

First two are for abaddon, second two are for trieste i believe.

209.234.247.4 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com
209.234.247.4 2moons.acclaimdownloads.com
64.93.92.5 nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com
64.93.92.5 2moons.acclaimdownloads.com

Save the file and re-launch the game.
P.S.: Well if the Game is not updating, remove those lines. But after update you can add them back Smile

2)Sound Card updating.
We need to get them updated, but you need to know what card you have first.

There are a couple ways of doing this. The first way is to right click My Computer and click on Properties. Then click on the Hardware tab and click on Device Manager. Once in the Device Manager section, expand the link by Sound, Video & Game controllers. Here you should see the type of sound card you have installed in your machine.

The second way to find out what kind of sound card you have is to click on the Start button, then click on Run and once the Run box opens, type DXDIAG. Now click on the Sound tab up at the top and the name of your sound card will be displayed.

If you have an AC.97 (or any Realtek) try here:

C Media
http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/driver

Conexant Audio and Sigmatel Audio
Try your PC/lap-top manufacturer's web site.

For everyone else, do a search on the maker, the model number and the word "driver" in Google. With luck it will be in right in the first few links.

3)Video card updating
Download page for the 7/31/07 update to Direct X.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&DisplayLang=en

Page for NVIDIA's driver selection.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

ATI's page for video drivers.
http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Intel graphics driver

how to know, what Video card you are using:
Start>>Run>>type dxdiag
under the display tab, it should say, which graphic card are you using.

4)for few connection types:

Fix for slow xDSL Internet access

This tweak is also valid for all Windows versions.
Sometimes during browsiing you can notice that it takes time to access any web page,
and then, suddenly, your connection establishes full-speed again.
The reason lays in amount of time it needs for tcp/ip protocol to translate
a host name to an IP address. In order to fix this problem your xDSL modem shoud have
an internal IP address specified in TCP/IP properties. For Win98 it would be TCP/IP bounded
to NIC.
In most of the cases IP address would be 192.168.1.2; subnet mask : 255.255.255.0.

Hope it helps.

How do I change my IP address?

"How do I change my IP address?" and "Can I change my IP address?" are probably the most commonly asked questions. Please attempt the following then, if that does not work, visit the Change IP Address forum.
Before trying any other methods to change your IP address, try turning off (or unplugging the power of) your Cable/DSL modem for five minutes. In many cases this will change your IP address. However, if that does not change your IP address, repeat the process for 8 hours (overnight works well) instead of 5 minutes. Hopefully this will result in an IP change.

If the above does not result in your IP address changing, please look through the below for the situation that best matches yours and attempt to change your IP address that way. Unfortunately you are not able to get your IP address to change in all cases, as it is ultimate determined by your ISP's DHCP configuration (when you've got a dynamically assigned IP address, that is.)

Windows - Computer connected directly to the modem

Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd).

Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).
Type "ipconfig /renew" (without the quotes, on the command line by itself).
Windows (second option) - Computer connected directly to the modem

Get to a command prompt. (START, run, cmd).
Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotes).
Shut down computer.
Turn off computer.
Turn off all ethernet hubs/switches.
Turn off cable/DSL modem.
Leave off overnight.
Turn everything back on.
Network with Router

Log into the router's admin console. (Often http://192.168.1.1/)
Release the IP address. (Method varies by router manufacturer)
Turn off router, ethernet hubs/switches, and the cable/DSL modem.
Leave off overnight.
Turn everything back on.
If you are using a cable/DSL modem and a router, you may wish to connect your computer directly to the cable/DSL modem. Please note that this could significantly impact your system security. This allows your ISP's DHCP to issue you a new (hopefully changed) IP address based of the (hardware) MAC address of your computer's ethernet card.

If all the above has not worked to change your IP address and you have a router, check and see if there is a "Clone MAC Address" option. Using it should change your IP address, however, you'll only be able to do it once (in most cases).

These will not work in all cases. If all else fails contact your internet service provider (ISP) and ask them if they are able to change your IP address or how long your connection needs to be off for your IP address to change.

We've heard about IP Changer programs, but have not seen any that work in a reliable manner. If you have seen an IP address changer program that works, please let us know.

Fix problems with USB DSL/Cable modems

Some usb dsl/cable modems may get disconnected after a little while.
A possible reason that could cause this problem is that in windows xp there is an option
that allows the computer to turn off a usb device to save power. To disable this option:

1) click start, highlight my computer, right click and select properties and a window will pop up with the system properties
2) click on the hardware tab and press the device manager button
3) expand the universal serial bus controllers
4) Double click on the USB Root Hub.
5)Select the Power Management tab and UNTICK the "allow the computer to turn off the device to save power"

If you have more than one USB Root Hub, then you should apply the steps to each one of them
That's it, you won't need to restart the computer!

If you are having problems connecting or staying connected to the Internet?
The checklist below may help you pin point the problem.

U can also use this list for CABLE/ADSL lines !!!!

Check the configuration of the modem.
If the modem does not attempt to dial, the configuration of the modem is not properly set. Check with the manufacturer that you purchased the computer from or with a computer repair shop.

Check your phone line.

For a modem to make a solid connection, it needs a clear phone line (no static or echo). U.S. West connects phone calls through different set of switch boxes, so the quality of each connection may vary. If you are having problems with your phone line, please contact your phone carrier.

Check the phone line(s) inside your home or office.
If you have two phone lines and are experiencing being knocked off or not making a connection, try switching the phone lines. Once you switch the phone lines, connect to the Internet. If you connect with no problems, the first line needs to be replaced. For users who have one phone, check to see how many other items are using the same phone line. Each additional item using the same phone line as your Internet connection, will cause unstable connections, decreased speeds or no connection. If you have more than two items using the same phone line, consider having another phone line installed just for your Internet connection. * All pay per view users, remember to unplug the satellite before logging onto the Internet. Pay per view will interfere with connection.

Check your wall jack.

Wall jacks and telephone cords are made of copper or other metals which are subject to loss of spring and corrosion because of aging. Try plugging your modem into another wall outlet. If this works, replace the wall outlet.

Check the path of the phone line.
Make sure your phone line goes directly from the wall to the modem (no answering machines or phone line splitters). Your modem should be the first item connected to the phone line.

Check your dialing properties.
If you dial 9 to get an outside line, this means you are using an office network phone. This type of phone line usually has a very low bandwidth. Try using a standard phone line, the same type of line that is used for a fax machine.

If you have 1 listed in the dial-up properties window before the dial-in number, this will try to dial in to a long distance number. Delete the 1, double check the dial-in number and save the changes.

If you have recently added a second phone line without call waiting or deactivated call waiting, check the properties in the Connect To window. If call waiting is checked, unselect the box and click OK.

Check your system.
If problems started after software or hardware was taken off, check to see what files may be missing or not configured correctly.

Check your username and password.
When you dial in and the server will accept username or password, make sure you have the right names listed, in lowercase and @cvc.net is not listed (@cvc.net is entered for e-mail only).

Has your system been rebooted?
If you have been in several programs or left your system running for a extend amount of time, close down your system and then start again. Computer systems need to be refreshed periodically to run at peak performance.

Control programms runned at startup

The best way to prevent a program from running at Startup, is to check the program's own options for a way to prevent this. Most good quality programs will provide an option for this.

If you can't find the option there, click Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG. Go to the Startup tab, and uncheck the item there. This method is not always 100% successful. An example is a program that you do use, but you don't want running automatically. Some programs will check to see if the program's own options say it should run at Startup. If the program thinks its supposed to load at startup, it will re-create the autorun entry.

Hope it helps Razz

Fix Problem with disconnect with ASDL/Cable modems

With some ADSL/Cable modems (especially USB) you may have a problem with getting disconnected
after a few hours, here are two ways to fix that.

Disable Hibernation
Right click on your desktop, click the screen saver tab, once there you should see a power
button at the bottom of the display properties dialog, click that, ones dialog appears click the hibernate tab,
and uncheck enable hibernation.

Disable Windows Messenger
Go to your start menu, click run.
In the Run dialog type gpedit.msc
Go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Windows Messenger
Once there right click Do not allow Windows messenger to be run, go to properties.
Check the box next to enable.

That should fix the problem.

5)Add extra ports in your fire wall - they will allow you to acces servers faster, means less-DC.

Start>>Control Panel>>Windows Firewall. In ''Exceptions'' window click add port and type in following TCP ports :8222, 7881.Each add as seperate port(add 8222, close, add next) (but TCP).

6)
http://www.download.com/3001-2155_4-10488572.html?spi=12fefc25dacd03c00cbe4e9363e9a629
for users not familiars with TCP concepts (The most) just select the approximate speed you have (Remember you have an upload bandwidth which is lower than download, in my case I selected the average value), and the type of ADSL you have (PPPoE or PPPoA) by calling your ISP provider, click on the optimal settings radio button and click apply.

Restart your PC and thats it.

This information above is from official 2moons forum. In time i will try to add more tips Wink
